Yashoda Wimaladharma

I met Mr.Nalan Mendis first at the Doodaruwo teledrama in 1990.

It is a pleasure for me to have an opportunity to work under the directorship of Mr.Nalan Mendis from the beginning itself of my artistic life.

He does his role in a performable way. He has fulfilled with very rare qualities such as organizational strengthening, disciplined, creativity to work at the right time. These qualities are the several factors that influenced the successful outcome of his career.

The opportunity I have to act more than 20 his teledramas have shaped up my artistic life in so extensive manner.  His teledrama gave me an opportunity to win more audience responses.

Priyanwada, Suba, Ahinsa and Amanda are the several characters of them.

The most scenario thing that I learned from him is the professionalism.   Disciplining formed by him in the scene at the creation is excellent. That factor lends a helping hand to actor/actress to develop his/her character. The character “Sakunthala” of the teledrama “ Situwarayo” is the most desired character of the characters which I have ever performed even in the today itself. Situwarayo” is the most highlighted teledrama that preformed Nalan Mendis excellent capability of the creation.

He was not honored in the drama festivals in Sri Lanka, and actually the loss of his name in the drama festival is regrettable.     Many viewers have gathered around the Nalan Mendis’s name and his creation in the Sri Lankan teledrama history. It is same in the today also.

Such a brief note is not sufficient to describe the outstanding mission he performed in forming artistic works with qualitative value in the field of teledrama.

Nalan Mendis name has been written in golden chapter in the history of Sri Lankan teledrama.

Tele drama viewers are eagerly looking forward to be enjoying his teledramas.

I wish that you would find a better background to direct new valuable creations. As well as he has a huge amount of knowledge about various subjects.

His silent of the exceptional person like Nalan Mendis is a loss to the field. This would lead the decline of the field.

I wish that he would be able to build up the necessary background to launch his next creations quickly.
